Holmegaard

The story of Holmegaard

The history of Holmegaard begins in 1823, when Count C. Danneskiold-Samsøe applied to the Danish king to build a glassworks in Holmegaard Mose. In 1823, the Count died without receiving an answer, and his widow Henriette was left with six children. When Henriette received the king's permission to build a glassworks shortly after her husband's death, she decided to continue the project.
